HARRY OPPENHEIMER TROPHY MACCAUVLEI GOLF CLUB AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP 54 HOLES

TO BE PLAYED OVER THE COURSE OF MACCAUVLEI GOLF CLUB ON

MONDAY 08 TH , TUESDAY 09 TH and WEDNESDAY 10 TH JUNE 2026

Conditions of play:
The competition will be played under the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Ltd and the Bye Laws and local Rules as approved by theFree State Golf Union.

Handicap Limit:
Open to amateurs who are members of a Golf Club affiliated to GolfRSA and who have a handicap Index of 3.0 (Three Point Zero) or less assessed in terms of the GolfRSA Rating and Handicapping System. (HNA)

Form of Competition:
The competition will be played over 54 holes Strokeplay, 18 holes on Monday 08 th June, 18 holes on Tuesday 09 TH June and 18 holes on Wednesday 10t h June 2024 at Maccauvlei Golf Club. At the end of the second round (36 holes) a cut will be made for the top 60 and ties.

Entries:
Entries will be limited to 156 players. In the event of entries exceeding the field limit of 156, players will be balloted on the basis of the
GolfRSA National Rankings effective as of the closing date. The decision of the Maccauvlei Golf Club as to the acceptance or refusal of
any entry shall be final.

Entrance Fee:

Closing date:
Entries close at 12h00 on Sunday, 31 May 2024. Late entries and entries not on the prescribed form will not be accepted.

Ties:
In the event of a tie for first place, the tied players will immediately continue in a sudden death playoff on hole’s 1 and 18 until a winner is determined.

Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded for * the best 1 st , 2 nd and 3rd 18 holes gross * the best 36 holes gross (Vaal Amateur Trophy), * best overall winner over 72 holes (Harry Oppenheimer Trophy) and *runner-up over 72 holes *.

Draw and Starting Times:
The draw will be conducted by the Maccauvlei Golf Club. Any competitor who is absent from the tee when called upon to start will be liable for disqualification or penalty under Rule 6.3.

Decisions:
The Tournament Organizing Committee will deal with decisions and disputes of any kind.
Courtesy of Course: The courtesy of the Maccauvlei Golf club will be extended to entrants for practice from 06 to 07 June 2026. Arrangements must be made with the Maccauvlei Pro Shop Tel: (016) 421-3196 beforehand and membership green fees will be applicable.

Golf dress code:
Only recognized golfing attire will be accepted.
