Interpretation and Definitions

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  1. Maccauvlei Golf Club and M. Van Staden Pro Shop (Also known as Maccauvlei Pro Shop) and maccauvleigolfclub.co.za, herein further referred to as, “We”, “Us” or “Our”
  2. Website visitor or golf club visitor, member of the club, herein further referred to as, “You, “Your”
  3. Cookies are small files that are placed on Your computer, mobile device or any other device by a website, containing the details of Your browsing history on that website among its many uses.

Information We collect

We, as a golf club, collect, Your personal data, Under Personal Information Act No. 4 of 2013 (POPI), which governs the way private sector organisations collect, use, keep secure and disclose personal information.

We collect and share this information for the membership purposes and enquiries, enrolling you for competitions, tournaments. Seating you to club functions etc. Clubmaster’s member Portal, GolfRSA, or Handicap Network Africa or for the purpose to assist You with Your enquiry online, via telecom, Whatsapp, email or in person.

Please be assured that GolfRSA, the South African Golf Association (SAGA), Women’s Golf South Africa (WGSA), the SA Golf Development Board (SAGDB), the SA Disabled Golf Association, all provincial golf Unions and HNA are fully POPIA compliant. Furthermore, all golf clubs in South Africa have been issued with the same POPIA compliance documents and training materials by GolfRSA to ensure full-spectrum POPIA compliance in amateur golf nationally.

We respect Your privacy and concerns of safeguarding of Your personal information. We will not share Your personal information to any third-parties without Your consent. We take reasonable steps to ensure that Your personal information is protected at all times.

According to POPIA ‘‘Personal Information’’ means information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person, and where it is applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person. Examples of information we collect from You are (“Personal Information”):

Name and Surname, Residential address, Email address, Handicap (if applicable) Telephone/cell number, Gender, Occupation, date of birth, possibly details of prior club, banking details (where debit orders are implemented)

We may take photos / videos for promotional purposes to share with you personally or to share on third party websites i.e. (not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, members Whatsapp groups, etc.

Usage Data is collected automatically upon browsing this website

Usage Data may include information such as Your Device’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our website that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

When You access this website by or through a mobile device, We may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device You use, Your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of Your mobile device, Your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser You use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
